Housecleaning...or not

When I was drinking my morning coffee I noticed there was a lot of dust under the settee in my living room. For a few minutes I considered cleaning house. But I decided I’d rather draw it than clean it. I enjoyed trying out different colors for the settee and throw. This corner of my living room is actually quite subdued and neutral.

Beautiful colors! Good choice of painting over dusting. When the artisic mood strikes you must take advantage. Dusting can be done any old time. Yesterday was a rare sunny day for us and the sun, with the glare from the left over snow, was like a spotlight on my dust! My motto is "dust you will always have with you". ;)

what is it they say? housework is here to stay, save it for another day...today; go play! or something like that! What lovely greens! One of the hardest things for me is to make beautiful greens. Your are lovely. Do tell, what mixes of greens did you use here?

You are a kindred spirit! If you'd spent time cleaning it, it would be dusty again in a day or two, but now you'll always have this drawing, and we can enjoy it too.

Marta, I don't have a very discerning eye when it comes to color, but I really like Daniel Smith's "Serpentine Genuine" green wc paint. It granulates into a lovely green/ faint reddish orange. I usually add either yellow ochre or Hooker Green to change it, as needed.

I love the colours in this, especially the purply colour mixed in with the green of the chair.

Lovely drawing with beautiful colors! I agree that drawing is always better than cleaning!

You've got such a wonderful collection of sensitively rendered sketches with watercolor on display today. I'm totally with you about the dust bunnies vs painting. I guess I have dust kitties since my fluffy tumbleweeds are courtesy of my two cats. I couldn't believe how long my house stayed clean in the few months when I had no cats.
