I didn't even notice the symmetry until I read your comment! I was just enjoying how you painted the bananas; the harmony between the yellow and the green; and the inspired and dramatic way you split the space in two.
I'm not sure I understood her, but I had a teacher who advocated stressing the very thing that bothered you in a painting. This 2-2-2 painting may illustrate her principal: I think it works.

I love it! I didn't notice that either until I read your comments. It's a great composition. You have enough interest with the colors, shapes, etc, and the different colors in the divided background help, too. It's lovely!

Please forgive me, I have been reading a book about Dada and the Surrealists, and this one struck me as phallic. I can't help it, I was an English major! OK, I'm ducking and running now...

Beautiful design - nice work. I think the symmetry is off just enough to make it interesting...
