Saturday, with pears...

Although I think about painting almost every day, I haven't picked up a paintbrush for several months. These brown pears have been beckoning me all week. Since they are starting to develop mushy spots, today was the day. It felt good to paint again, even if that one pear looks a lot like a piece of fried chicken.

Funny, I do that too - THINK about painting but don't get to do it often. I'm glad you painted the pears brown, a nice change from the usual green. I just found your blog through your Flickr, so I just now subscribed to your blog through Google Reader. Looking forward to more posts!

I glad to see you have hopped back in the figurative saddle, Sharon. I love your style, and look forward to your paintings.

You live right there in fruit heaven, don't you? When I was little my mom's high school buddy taught somewhere in Oregon, and she would send boxes of Harry and David pears at the holidays. Mom wasn't much of a fruit eater, but I LOVED those pears.

They're lovely! I think the bowl and fruit are exquisite. I hear you about picking up a brush--mostly I don't have time or I'm just too tired at the end of a day of traveling. Good for you--they're beautiful!

You didn't lose your touch. I know what you mean about seeing chicken... but I'd just rather be eating fried chicken... alas. Amazing I didn't see chocolate cake or something.
