Here are a few of the studies I painted in my beginning oil painting class which ended last week. There are more, but they're not completely dry yet. I really like painting on gessoed mat board. It eliminates the pressure to produce something "worthwhile" that I experience when using a canvas.

My favorite is the salt shaker and bowl for it's color and page placement...you really got the shine down....Winna
Great work - especially the reflections!
These are great Sharon--all very harmonious, pleasing. The colors and the way you modulate/gradate them is very subtle!
Wow--these are just awesome, Sharon! I love them. You've really taken to oils. Great job.
These are all lovely - my favourite is the bottom one with the salt shaker. I can't believe you're a beginner!
I love these oils Sharon and yes, the shakers especially!!

These are WONDERFUL Sharon!!!! Doesn't the mat board warp some? I use gessoed masonite board for practice paintings.
I am finally done with the semester! Now I can get going on my art exchange! But first, a 2 1/2 road trip through the desert southwest.
Marta, The mat boards do warp slightly, but when they are dry, I just put them under a stack of books. My teacher actually mats and frames her archival mat board paintings, which drives gallery owners crazy since they no longer look like oil paintings.
