Onion with shallots

It's been a while since I painted one of the EDM challenges. Here's #179: Draw an onion.

the allium family is just great for both cooking and painting!

I love the colors: can't go wrong with yellow and violent, I think! The shallots seem to be paying obeisance to the onion!

Beautiful little group, and wonderful onion colours. I'm told the skins make a great fabric dye.

We've just pulled our first from the garden. Never thought I would get so excited over an onion.
