Contours

Nothing in the room inspired me while we were watching Sixty Minutes last night, so I drew this from a fashion magazine at hand. Contour drawings are relaxing, no worry about accuracy or creating anything special, just an opportunity to exercise the right side of the brain...

Ha! I'm certain that Vogue model did not have the hips I drew on her, maybe a bit of projection on my part?

You did a great job!--difficult subject etc. --it's what I want to do more of, too

Nice drawing. I agree with you on contour drawing. It's such a great way to keep hand and brain moving.
I have been doing it a lot here in a tiny sketchbook, as we make our way around our new Bali life.

Ooooh, I love that! So free and loose, and lovely! I'm a huge fan of contour drawing--it's always beautiful to me.

My life drawing teacher said you always draw yourself. A blow to me since I always added hips and a belly to the model! What a great idea to do a contour drawing--no pressure, no commitment ... but great practice!

I love the neckline and the pearls (I am sure they are pearls). Reminds me of my mom when she was all dressed up. Now that's the power of personal interpretation for you!
