The river valley where I live in Oregon gets a lot of fog. It's been particularly heavy the past week, often lingering until late afternoon when it lifts to reveal a few hours of sunshine. Sometimes it feels a bit oppressive and gloomy, but I love what it does to the view. The trees, hills and buildings look mysterious and a bit magical in the heavy mist. And the light shining through as it begins to thin produces a beautiful glow.

This is amazing!
I love fog. I think it is probably my favourite type of weather- and we got some pretty good fogs back home in England :) They are not as impressive here in Virginia, but I love the light- which you captured SO well in your painting :) Love it!
You've really captured a foggy moist look. Is it really in the 40s and 50s in your neck of the woods? Arrrrgh! We had a high of -8 today. The colors here are blue skies, white snow, and black tree limbs.
WOW! Great foggy feeling.
Exquisite! Your watercolors are so fine. I live in the fog belt too.
This is beautifully done...lovely fresh color...soft faded is wonderful!
Wow...!!
This is lovely - really captures the foggy conditions.
Lovely. In fact, lots of lovely work on your blog since my last visit.
Great painting, Sharon. You've beautifully captured the way fog diffuses the light and I know fog having grown up in San Francisco. Now I know cold! It is -5 here in Maine
You really captured it!
Yes, it's wonderful! I love all the brushmarks and the spontaneous feel to it ... You've captured here the way watercolors work best, I think!
Oh wow, that's so beautifully done! How did you get it to look so luminous like that where the sun is coming through? It looks like the paper is back-lit! Fabulous.
You really captured the light in this painting!
Beautiful. Wonderful mood in this piece - brilliantly done!
You really should keep up these every day paintings--your work has been just stunning, Sharon.e
